Where Should I File Bankruptcy?

You file bankruptcy in the Federal judicial district in which you have lived for the greater part of the 180 days prior to filing.  For example, if you have lived in Idaho for more than 6 months immediately prior to filing, you would file in the District of Idaho.  However, if you moved to Idaho a month ago, but lived in Utah for the five months prior to that, you would file in the District of Utah.
