DESCRIPTION:A deal’s a deal.  Or is it?  We enter and perform contracts every day without thinking twice about them (or even thinking about them at all).  When you’re purchasing something online\, subscribing to a streaming service\, opening a bank account\, getting a credit card\, getting a haircut\, renting an apartment\, accepting a job\, etc.\, you are entering into a contract.   \nIn the Arts and Entertainment industry\, contracts are everything.  Contracts define rights and responsibilities.  Contracts define who owns what and who gets paid how much.   \nBut other than lawyers\, who really enjoys reading contracts?  Nobody\, right?  \nBut when your creation and livelihood are on the line\, what do you do? \nSure\, you can (and in many cases should) hire a lawyer to read and interpret a contract for you\, but ultimately it is you\, not your lawyer\, that is affected by the contract.
